Ducati Monster
Air Cooled 1100 & 1100S from Ducati Motorcycles

Ducati Monster 1100, reviews of the new air-cooled Monster 1100 from Ducati Motorcycles.

ducati monster, monster 1100, 1100S

visit Telegraph "Where the Monster's changed and progressed is in its useability: the turning circle is acceptable, the mirrors are much better, servicing costs are no different to mainstream Japanese bikes, the riding position is comfortable and the quality of finish is excellent. Judging by the demand for the smaller version and the durability of modern Ducatis, I'd expect depreciation to be low. But what matters is Ducati's speciality: the bike feels good, and in turn makes you feel good."

1100S - visit MCN "Being an air-cooled engine, peak power of only 95bhp doesn’t come into the equation, but the way the V-twin delivers the power is a seamless, grunty character-laden joy. Claimed torque of 79ftlb makes the short burst of performance in each gear very satisfying, and deceptively fast. And also very easy to control..."

visit Rider Magazine "The motor is not simply migrated from the Multistrada and Hypermotard. The crankcases are a new and much lighter design onto which the Multistrada cylinders and heads have been grafted, using the new Vacural casting technology which has also shaved 7 pounds from the liquid-cooled engines’ crankcases. The 1100’s crankcases alone are more than 6.5 pounds lighter than the old ones, while the Monster 1100’s single-sided swingarm is some 11 pounds lighter than the 1098’s, all factors in making the bike just 416 pounds wet, the lightest in its class by a considerable margin."

visit onewheeldrive "Glistening in a gorgeous pearl white paint job, there’s a strong family resemblance to the Monster 696, which revived the 15-year-old Monster franchise last year. The Monster 1100S shares much with its smaller sibling; a digital instrument panel, split (and replaceable) fuel tank covers, stout under-seat bugle exhausts and a trellis frame using the same diameter and thickness of tube as the 1098R. There are differences, the artistic single-sided swing-arm and whirling death petals of the 5-spoke alloy rims. Then there’s the heart and soul of the 1100, an air-cooled 90-degree twin looted from the Multistrada and Hypermotard 1100 and revised."
