Ducati 848
Faster and Lighter Than a Ducati 749

Ducati 848, this is no poor man's 1098, Ducati make Cool Italian Motorcycles.

from MotorcycleUSA "Are you a man or woman of style? Do you have passion for elegant design with performance to match? If so, Ducati’s 848 may have your name all over it. Heck, it looks fast with the kickstand down...Those Italians know how to make beautiful motorcycles, cars, clothes – you name it they have the best style. Do you have any idea how much they build the 848 with passion and it shows."

from onewheeldrive "To state that the 848 is simply a smaller displacement 1098 is like saying Prada is simply a lesser brand compared to Vuitton. Despite the fewer cc’s. the 848 features an all-new Testastretta Evoluzione powerplant churning out more power than the 749 while shedding weight faster than a supermodel prior to a Vogue photoshoot."

from The Telegraph "Our track venue, the Almeria circuit in southern Spain, confirmed it, and also proved that the 848 is deceptive in its speed. The engine, for example, has a huge spread of torque, pulling strongly with creamy smoothness from as low as 3,000rpm, a trait that's good for riders new to this category as the bike really isn't bothered by which gear you're in."

from LA Times "But where the 1098 is geared toward racing, the 848 is more street-centric -- not that you'd know from looking at them. If it weren't for the names on the tanks, it would be hard to tell the difference. The weight, profile and fit of the two bikes are almost identical."

As well as the 848, I will always have a soft spot for one of my previous bikes, the 748 - timeless looks:
