Buell 1125CR
Erik Buell's 140hp Cafe Racer

Buell 1125CR, cafe racing buell style with the water cooled 1125cc twin from Buell Motorcycles.

Buell 1125CR from ashonbikes "The new 1125CR is a stripped down version of the R, inspired according to genial company founder Erik Buell by British café racers of the 1960s, and today fitting in to the naked streetfighter slot populated by such wild machines as the Aprilia Tuono and Triumph Speed Triple. There’s big thrust at low revs, matched to a crisp throttle response that fires the bike out of corners, then it goes on to rev sweetly and eagerly, delivering its best in the mid-range but capable of serious high performance as it nears its red line."

from motorcycleusa "Without a doubt, the single factor that's going to draw riders to this machine is its wild styling. Buell terms it sinister and wicked, but to me, it's exactly what I've imagined my motorbike to look like if I was riding through the fiery gates in my after-life. Air scoops on either side look like they were copied off a MiG engineer's notebook, while at any angle the bike's profile appears as intense as your cage-fighting friend who's as likely to throw a head-butt as he is to shake someone's hand."

from motorcycle daily "Based on the 1125R platform, the CR features a minimalist approach, with the most notable change being the absence of a large windscreen. The CR also features a "Clubman" style handlebar instead of clip-on style bars, making the change from café racer to all out street fighter as easy as swapping out to the optional high bend bars."

from motorcycle.com "The “quiet zone” as Buell calls the space behind the fairing of the 1125R is now gone, leaving you more exposed to the elements. This is where fashion wins over function – your inner hooligan can’t hide from the aero forces on the CR. It’s built for fun, not racing. Big speed however doesn’t completely ruin the fun. When we got our kicks on the autobahn, we only had a few floating wobbles above a hundred miles per hour."

from cycleworld "As our on-track pace increased, the 146-claimed-horsepower engine showed the same vigorous acceleration and torquey nature that we like so much about the R. But with more than 8-percent-lower gearing, the Buell 1125CR fires out of corners a lot more aggressively."

from motorcyclist "The CR's layout closely follows that of the R-model, with the same Austrian-made Rotax V-twin incorporating the latest fuel and ignition mapping, claimed to improve starting, low-rpm running, cooling and fuel mileage. The claimed peak power output of 146 bhp at 9600 rpm is unchanged, as is a torque curve as flat as the windswept fields south of Berlin."
